Cryoskin in Houston: The Non-Invasive Body Sculpting Treatment You’ve Been Looking For
You’ve probably tried everything. You eat well most of the time, you stay active, and yet there are still those stubborn spots that won’t budge — the lower belly, the inner thighs, the arms. Sound familiar? If you’re in Houston and tired of feeling stuck, Cryoskin might be the answer you didn’t know existed.
Cryoskin is a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that uses controlled cold temperatures to target and destroy fat cells — without surgery, without needles, and without any downtime. It’s been used in Europe for years, and it’s now available right here in Houston at Amira’s Cryo Spa & Salon on Long Point Rd.
In this post, I’m going to walk you through exactly what Cryoskin is, how it works, what you can realistically expect, and whether it’s the right fit for you. By the end, you’ll have everything you need to make a confident decision.
What Is Cryoskin, Exactly?
Cryoskin is a technology originally developed in Paris. The machine uses a wand that alternates between warm and cold temperatures to create what’s called thermal shock. That thermal shock is what does all the work.
Depending on the treatment type, that reaction either destroys fat cells (slimming), tightens the skin by stimulating collagen production (toning), or rejuvenates and lifts the face (CryoFacial). All three are available at our Houston location.
The fat cells that get destroyed during a slimming session don’t just disappear on the spot. Your body’s lymphatic system gradually flushes them out over the 2 weeks following your session. So results continue to improve even after you leave the spa.
The Three Types of Cryoskin Treatments We Offer
1. Cryoskin Slimming
This is what most people come in for first. Cryoskin Slimming targets specific areas where fat tends to accumulate — the belly, thighs, arms, back, and love handles. The wand cools fat cells to around -8°C. At that temperature, those cells undergo a natural process called apoptosis, which is essentially programmed cell death.
The cells are then absorbed and eliminated by the lymphatic system. One session produces visible results for many clients. A pack of 3 or 10 sessions gives you more comprehensive, longer-lasting sculpting.
2. Cryoskin Toning
Toning uses alternating warm and cold to stimulate collagen and improve circulation. It firms loose skin and visibly reduces cellulite. Even after one session, clients notice their skin looks smoother and feels tighter.
This treatment is popular for areas like the thighs, arms, and stomach — anywhere where skin has lost elasticity over time. Pairing toning sessions with our massage services helps boost lymphatic drainage and speeds up visible results.
3. CryoFacial
The CryoFacial is our most-requested Cryoskin treatment and for good reason. Cold temperatures are gently applied across the face and neck using the Cryoskin wand. It tightens pores, boosts microcirculation, and triggers collagen production — all without a single injection.
People often call the result the “Cryo Glow.” It’s visible immediately after your session and keeps improving in the days that follow. Many of our Houston clients pair CryoFacials with our facial services for a complete skin transformation.
How Is Cryoskin Different From Other Body Contouring Options?
This is the question I get asked most. Houston has a lot of options — CoolSculpting, laser lipo, ultrasound cavitation. So why Cryoskin?
CoolSculpting uses suction cups to freeze fat. It can cause discomfort during and after the session, and in some cases, it leads to a rare side effect called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, where the treated area actually gets larger. Cryoskin uses a smooth wand that glides across the skin — no suction, no compression, no risk of that complication.
Liposuction is surgical. You’re looking at anesthesia, incisions, weeks of recovery, and significant cost. Cryoskin is non-surgical, comfortable, and you’re back to your day immediately after.
Ultrasound cavitation breaks fat cells using sound waves. It works, but it doesn’t stimulate collagen. Cryoskin’s thermal shock method slims and tones simultaneously — you’re getting two benefits from one treatment.
What to Expect at Your Cryoskin Session in Houston
A lot of first-time clients are nervous because they don’t know what to expect. Here’s what actually happens when you come in to Amira’s Cryo Spa & Salon at 10149 Long Point Rd.
You’ll start with a quick consultation. Your specialist will ask about your goals — which areas you want to target, your timeline, and whether you’re looking for slimming, toning, or facial rejuvenation. That guides the whole session.
Then the treatment itself begins. The Cryoskin wand is applied to the target area. A slimming session typically runs 28–40 minutes depending on the size of the area. A CryoFacial is usually 20–30 minutes. The sensation is cool and comfortable — most people find it relaxing.
When it’s done, you’re free to go. No bandages. No compression garments. No rest time needed. The one recommendation we give every slimming client: avoid sugar for 2–3 hours after your session. Sugar activates the same metabolic pathways that compete with the fat-clearing process, so skipping it helps your results come through faster and stronger.
Who Gets the Best Results From Cryoskin?
Cryoskin isn’t a weight-loss treatment, and it’s important to be upfront about that. It works best for clients who are already close to their goal weight but have specific stubborn areas they can’t address through diet and exercise alone. If you want to learn more about our complete service lineup, visit our services page.
Ideal candidates:
- Are within about 30 lbs of their target weight
- Have localized fat deposits in specific areas
- Want to tighten loose or crepey skin
- Are looking for facial rejuvenation without injectables
- Want a treatment they can fit into a normal week — no downtime
Cryoskin is not recommended for women who are pregnant, or for anyone with certain circulatory conditions. If you have questions about whether it’s right for you, just call us before booking and we’ll talk you through it honestly.
How Many Sessions Will You Need?
This depends on your goal and the area being treated. Here’s a general guide:
- 1 session — great for testing results and seeing how your body responds
- 3-session pack — solid, visible fat reduction in a targeted area
- 10-session pack — comprehensive body sculpting across multiple zones
For facial and toning treatments, 5-session packages are our most popular option. Many clients do a series, then come back for maintenance sessions every 4–6 weeks.
Keep in mind that results continue improving for up to 2 weeks after each session. So if you’re not seeing dramatic changes on day one, that’s normal. The process is still working.
